This week Jairus received a call from the doctor in Indianapolis. He is 70% certain that all of the cancer cells were removed with Jairus’ first surgery that he had in February and he is not suggesting that we go for another surgery YET.
70% doesn’t sound like a lot to some people, but we are seeing the glass as 70% full and that’s GREAT news!
Well the journey is not over. Its not even close to being over. Today we are not headed to Indianapolis, but that could change very quickly (we are very aware that news can change plans at any time). Jairus will be monitored very closely with CT scans and lab work every 2 months for the next 3 years.
If the cancer is still present and begins to spread we are hoping the the frequent scans and monitoring will catch it quickly and prevent it from moving to major organs in his body.
We want to express our heartfelt gratitude for all of the texts, phone calls, cards and gifts of support. All of the money that has been donated will be used to pay the medical bills that we incurred with the first surgery, copays and deductibles for the CT scans, bloodwork and visits with the oncologist, and will be saved for any potential trips to Indianapolis that we may have.
Thank you all so much for your generosity, we are blessed. Prayers are working, keep praying!

Original Post written March 23, 2016:
I have been asked by friends and family to create this post to make it easier for people to help us.
Jairus (my amazing husband) found out today that he has a rare form of testicular cancer. A few weeks ago Jairus had a biopsy performed and it was discovered that the lump that was removed was actually a Teratoma. This particular cancer is not responsive to chemotherapy or radiation and the only way to treat it is with surgery.
Both of the specialists we’ve visited with locally agree that the best course of action means we need to consult physicians in Indianapolis who are experts in this type of cancer.
Travelling to Indianapolis for consultations, surgery and followup visits will create quite the financial burden for our family of five.
If you are willing and able to help us save for our trips, you can donate through PayPal using the link below. There are no fees for us or for you.
Thank you so much. Please never stop praying for our family and the ones you love!
